About
I started this blog as a sort of diary and reflection on a period of study leave I am taking at the University of Leeds between July 2009 and January 2010. In fact there are 4 things I am hoping to achieve; to develop my modules to maximise the appropriate use of communication and information technologies, to develop a course for research postgraduates and early career researchers on Researching in the Web 2.0 World, to analyse the Higher Education in a Web 2.0 World report, and write a report on how much of it is relevant to my University, and to research and write a paper Education in the Age of Uncertainty. The latter is largely inspired by the writings of my old professor, Zygmunt Bauman, and his analysis and diagnosis of what he calls ‘liquid modernity’. The writing of this paper and the issues it covers provide the context for the other projects.
